The Dangerous Truth About a Craft Store Clearance Sale

There are two kinds of people: those who walk past a craft store clearance sale...and those of us who leave pushing a cart that weighs more than we do.

It doesn't matter what holiday just passed. Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day...I'm pretty sure if National Burger Day ended with 75% off ribbon, I'd be there when the doors opened.

I tell myself I'm going in "just to look."

Then the craft curse takes over.

I swear I've only been in the store for five minutes, but somehow an hour has passed and I'm pushing a cart that looks like it's the love child of Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

The cashier always asks if I found everything I needed.

Needed?

No.

But....... someday I'll make the perfect wreath, and remember I have that one random roll of ribbon I bought for 75% off three years ago, and feel like the smartest person alive.

Until then, I'll continue doing what every crafter does after a holiday...

Walking into the store "just to see" and walk out a hundred dollars lighter with a cart full of "future projects."

It's called investing.

At least that's what I keep telling myself.
